The YSL Dilemma

Two movies, one designer. Here is the dilemma. 

Last January, Yves Saint-Laurent was released, starring Pierre Ninet and Guillaume Gallienne. A wonderful performance blessed by Pierre Bergé, the legendary partner of the designer. The movie described the ascension of the designer in the fashion world.

This week (in France) the second movie, Saint-Laurent, about the designer is coming out. A darker movie that treats the doubts and the troubles the icon faced. The Bertrand Bonello's version, starred by Gaspard Ulliel, already sets off controverse. It was non-authorized by Pierre Bergé, who denied the access of the archives of the Fondation Yves Saint-Laurent to the teams.  

Which version will be the most faithful to the designer? Was Pierre Bergé right to bless Jalil Lespert's movie? How Bertrand Bonello's one will be received by the public? We will have the answer on September 24th. 

One thing is sure, there was only one genius: Yves Saint-Laurent.
