It is with sadness that I learn the death of Gaby Aghion, founder of Chloé. Born in Egypt in 1921, she was a pioneer of prêt-à-porter, which she contributed to the advent.
She came to Paris when she was only 18 to establish a brand that is now considered as the reference of casual and effortless chic. She was always preoccupied by the confort and the movement of the woman body.
Gaby Aghion was also the kind of woman that tried to help a new generation of designers to develop itself. She surrounded herself with many creative talents among them, Karl Lagerfeld, who will succeed her after she retired.
She had taste. She had a vision. She was a pioneer. She was a wonderful woman, may she never be forgotten.
